Because the school she applied to was the school she built in her past life. It was something special to her. Besides, at least, in school, she wouldn't deal with any problems other than the school activities that she obviously could avoid with her position and intelligence. She did say if there's other activities (e.g. thesis) to be done, she could finish it right away without a problem. It's not dumb.
