I agree with you but I have less "steaked" in this xD I honestly think that the author is trying their best to salvage the decisions made early on to make this world completely disregard women lives. Like, men can have kids unless women are around like o.O anyways. It's also that changing things for women is very hard in this setting. Even harder than changing people's opinions of a certain act that makes the world a little safer (such as vaccination) but the author is trying to convey that though she could be killed at any time, and used and abused, she walked straight into the lions den and came out unscathed. She used her wit, care and concern (love?) to save Freesia which in turn saved her father and everyone in the empire's throne room. Yes, she clutched a shawl and looked like she did nothing, but she actually did what she set out to do, which was free Freesia from the emperors grasp. This had positive consequences, which lead to men thinking women have more value than just as slaves or child-bearers. Just my thoughts xD. I wouldn't disagree with dropping this cause honestly my heart hurts when I think of the misogyny ;-;. I liked your rant!
