this way of thinking called as pessimist, who know what will happen tomorrow??
As long as you try, who know that you'll find new, lots of, many friends that likes anime as you??
and, because of you have different colleges, are you gonna stop meeting him/her? will never meets, talks, chats, skypes, etc etc..

oh, I have no one in my real life.
I am as alien as you ( ̄∇ ̄")
Agreed with nickname. Try to be more optimistic. You might meet lots of people in college who might enjoy the same things as you (I actually did two different undergraduate courses and met two different fujoshis in each of them). If you feel defeated beforehand and don't try to make friends, then it's only natural you'll meet no one. Also, I don't know how far apart you and your friend will be, but you can still keep in touch (maybe visit each other, dunno?).
I was always very socially awkward because of the things I liked and had only a single friend in school. But I met dozens of people in conventions and online which are now my friends in RL. I put my face out there, tho, you might not want to be as crazy as me cuz I was lucky. But college is when you learn to be more independent and show yourself as you are more. You'll probably meet wonderful people, and even if they're not otakus, you'll be great friends, I'm sure. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I'm studying animation so all my classmates are into anime. A good hand full of my friends like yaoi and yurri. So to make it more realistic about 3/7 like it.
I'm 16, too. I'll graduate high school when I'm 18. Me and my childhood have the same hobby, we both love anime and manga. We be friend when I moved to my brother's house. His house is next to my brother's and we going to the same school. We talk a lot about our interests and our hobbies. We are like siblings more than friends. But we won't see each other after I graduate university. I have to move to my parents' house again because they say I can't live with him for entire life. That'd be very sad. But looking on the optimistic side, I think we can still see each other before I graduate university. We'd spend more time with each other before that time comes.
P/s: Try to think more optimistic things, you don't know what will happen in the future. By the way, sorry because I write to much and my English.

ugh
I've never had one IRL either lol (except maybe my younger cousin now but we only talk about it once or twice a month despite living together lol). But I've also never desired to get one. I kinda like being into something my other friends know nothing about and vice versa because I think it makes things more interesting. But I've never really felt lonely because there's always at least one person at any one time I can talk to about it.
So I guess you can make it a question of where you get your jollies. You can find friends who know you're into it even if they aren't, and spend your time with them talking abkut/doing other things. And then use online (or an anime club if possible) when you wanna wax otaku. But the biggest thing is to make a social life. College goes by in a flash and there's always something to do with a myriad of different people. So try out whatever you can.
I'm 16 and will be turning 17 this Sept, when I'll also be starting college. Tbh, I literally only have one friend who I know that watches anime and reads manga, and we'll both be going to different colleges.....i'll have no one to talk to about anime and manga face-to-face ever again. Yh, I'll be lonely af.
I want to know how many people have otaku friends in real life, because I have only 1, (I have no social life) and quite frankly, the Internet is the only true place where I don't feel lonely because I feel like a complete alien in real life ╥﹏╥ ヽ(`Д´)ノ
