I understand your point. But as a khaol lover myself and in general too, I think every charcoal deserves pity and a happy ending. Of course it is up to the author to decide what to do, but as a reader I truly wish for Khaol to find happiness somehow. I cannot imagine saying that someone’s doesn’t deserve a happy ending.
Exactly! It changed when he decided he wanted to remain a powerful God more than he wanted to love Kaveri (and forgive so he can move on). It makes me sick that he knew his lover was trapped like that. That’s the whole taboo of the situation rn, he tried to have both power and happiness and it wasn’t possible, so both he and Kaveri continue to suffer.
The reason I will always have some pity for Khoal is because he got fcked by this God system that was never meant to work. I think he forgot human emotions and what it means to love/forgive/let go - just like when River merged with Shuyin. Power just became more important than anything else.
For so reason I feel bad for khaol. I wish he can get his own happiness too. I might be crazy since he has always been my most favorite character lol.
