There is but its not necessarily toxic. Its a bit of a misunderstanding. The way they addressed it afterwards its up to interpretation by the reader but its only the one scene
However, yaoi has a habit of using rape as like a plot device which honestly isnt the best way to create conflict. So many better ways. Like getting decked (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

It was definitely a toxic relationship at that point. There was a lot of positive character development after that though and it became a story about dealing with homophobia, family rejection/acceptance, communication, insecurity, and becoming life partners. It's unrealistic that their relationship turned out so wonderful after rape, but in fiction it worked I guess. I hate so much that that scene was included. I only kept reading because the rating is so high I figured it must be something special in spite of that. (I was right.)
