I liked this story a lot at first because of the cool af MC and the cute and rash ML, but now it’s turning into emo teen with mommy issues and idk. Hope it turns around and actually gets somewhere

He's always been a moody teenager with parent issues. Thats been apparent from the get go. Also, I hope this doesn't turn out predictable with some weird ending of them dating now or a break happening and then years later they date. I mean, issei wants a mother figure and the main female was kind of filling that role. Honestly, it's more realistic that what he feels is not romantic in nature at all, because, unless there was some major growing up on his part and some independence gaining on hers, nothing is going to work out. He's just a punk kid with abandonment issues caused by his 'rents and with too much money and pride.

It’s not really how he acts that bothers me but the direction the story is going like they’re gonna stretch out the melodrama (also the husbands mistress being the brothers fling too what up with that ( ̄へ ̄) . Before it was pretty reasonable and realistic to me but now it’s like it’s playing it up with unnecessary drama while still keeping its useless fillers that don’t really get anywhere. Drama is fine and nice easy going fillers are cute too but not both together.

I see. That's manga for you. To be honest, if my life were a manga, the drama would be dragged out too. I'm 30 and apart from the last 5 years (ignoring my medical issues) my life has been nothing BUT drama. Dragged out, destructive drama I didn't ask for. Lol. Are you looking for manga That's not drama intensive? Or only has, maybe, one arc of huge drama?

I think I’m just a bit upset because I liked this story a lot at first and I liked how the MC expressed herself and how the teen appreciated it and smth between them was beginning to develop. Like the extra side story is so mofo cute. But now it’s like they’re sprinkling in drama which is fine I love drama, I love when characters get jealous or there’s some kinda misunderstanding. But the newest arc was so disappointing. And it reminds me of the haunted house bathroom ‘arc’ where i feel like the author adds arcs that don’t progress the story and hardly highlight the underlying plot so they all just feel like fillers. And honestly, I could handle that too, but it feels like they’re doing it in a way that makes me start disliking the characters or they’re loosing the reason I liked them in the first place. So tldr, I think I’m looking for a story that just has likable characters and a cohesive plot lol. I just hope this one gets better.

Ah, well, in shoujo there's always random arcs. So far, I like "Honey Lemon Soda". "Hirunaka no Ryuusei" is one of my favorite shoujos. "Ao Haru Ride" is great and so is "Mairunovich". "Lovely Complex" is cute a funny. The anime is spectacular (I would watch it subbed, though, not dubbed). "Hana Kimi" is wonderful. "Kim ni Todoke" is fluffy and cute. I would suggest any of these."Hirunaka no Ryuusei" has a great FL and doesn't end in the stereotypical way, which is nice.

HAHA IVE READ ALL OF THOSE! I love hirunaka no ryuusei, it’s def one of my favorite shoujos too!! I didn’t like Mairunovich or lovely complex that much, but the others you mentioned I like. Honey Lemon is good too but last place I left off I remember thinking it was going kinda slow. If you like interesting Female leads I recommend Gokusen! That’s also an all time favorite of mine. The ml is younger than the fl though, but that probably shouldn’t be a problem since you’re reading this story lol

I read "Four Years Apart", too. That was a good one. I actually don't read shoujo a lot. I. Far more of a yaoi fan.. Lol. "Marmalade Boy" was the first manga I read, back when Borders existed, if that tells you anything about my age... "Skip Beat" is probably the only shoujo I've followed for so long. Although I am impatient for "Hana ni Kedamono" to update. It's been YEARS. Lol. I'll look up Gokusen, for sure. Its hard to find good shoujo that doesn't follow the overused tropes, you know? I think the largest age gap one i read was "Meru Puri". Omg, I can't believe I forgot "Penguin Revolution". I had such a crush on Aya and died for updates on mangafox. I could keep going but I'm gonna stop there.
