You know, it's a psychologic thing. He was deeply in love with the woman and she was all of his first times. He was manipulate since the beginning without knowing and she played a good game, now it's like he knows it but still hope she will choose him in the end because he is the only one who can do everything for her. Because he is manipulated since the beginning, for him there is no other way of living actually, he is too deep in this. And MC is showing him that he can move away from his first lover little by little, even if this is not healthy either. At least, MC is not manipulating him, he is true in his own way with ML. Am I being understandable ? I don't know it's so clear in my head but I'm not sure about my explanation ^^' Sorry
