Taehwan was mostly raped by Mike, I don't think he hates gays for the sake of hating them, I think he's gay so it's more like self hate and it's linked to that trauma.

Thankfully he was not raped, as the author said on Twitter that TW lost his virginity in high school, and he was no longer in contact with Mike by then. More likely scenario is that he was molested.
