Also, the fact that his new body has a past implies that there was already a soul in that body before he reincarnated.... where did that soul go? Did it switch places with him? Like was his new body just a walking, talking empty shell or was it actually a person with a soul? Or maybe it’s still himself, just in an alternate dimension where everything is different?
I know I’m putting too much thinking into this but the plot holes in this story has my brain running a whole marathon

Exactly my point. That’s why even though I want to enjoy the story I’m half enjoying and half worrying abt the plot holes and my brain can’t stop constructing some theories like the ones you mentioned
It could be a matter of trauma causing him to remember a previous incarnation. So rather than a whole new would getting squished in the body it could just be a matter of hard drive with residual data.

Does any of you in the comments still remember that the uke is actually sent to another world(wc is the setting now)? And is actually worried why his memories is now overlapping with his current body’s memory and his old self is slowly disappearing? Cause why does it seem like y’all forgetting that.
