[SPOILERS] he's the only one who truly atoned for his actions against og penelope (and he was the one who didn't rlly do anything besides bring yvonne. he didn't betray her or harm her). After yvonne freed leila and killed everyone, vinter made sacrificed his soul to bring back penelope. He made it so that every time penelope died...everything would reset (hence hard mode and how the game reset every time she died). He reversed time so many times that Penelope's soul was destroyed and that led to the isekai with our current fl. I'm not 100% certain abt this next part but I'm pretty sure she was isekai-ed into the story bc of her soul. You notice how her story and expierence in life are really similar to that of Penelope...like REALLY SIMILAR. that's why she became penelope after penelope's soul was destroyed.

I read in some comments stated that she was Penelope herself (more to a pieces of Penelope's soul) I'm not so sure myself coz I still in the middle of read this novel.
I'm also still in the middle of reading it (though i read the ending bc i'm impatient) which is why i said i'm not sure. I've heard something about a fragment of penelope's soul. She can't be og penelope bc that wouldn't align with the other stuff that happens. She is given the choice to go back to HER world. I'll update this for sure once i read the scene myself.

From the very beginning Derrick has been sexually obsessed/attracted to penelope. and i mean from the VERY BEGINNING. Penelope assumes that Derrick doesn't like her calling him "oppa" bc he loves yvonne very much...but that's not really the reason. He makes her call him "young master" bc of his attraction/obsession with her. His lust for her began to manifest into hate. He still lusts after her but shows it through hatred. After the trial during the hunting competition he literally insults Vinter (she was thanking Vinter for backing her up during the trial and she refused to talk to Derrick). This man is the scum of scum. At the end of the story him and Penelope are basically strangers (they have no relationship what so ever) but her relationship with Reynold is top tier. They have a true brother-sister relationship.
