Charlotte is a very independent and confident person

she is the type you could even think of as happily asexual, as long as she does not meet someone who is completely on equal frequency.

I feel like the duke is also like this. Jeffrey is someone who could happily live a fulfilled life on his own. He could also have flings, who end up on good notes and stuff, but dunno. He is so well rounded everywhere?

All the other kids are really just kids. Their emotional intelligence is low, they obviously behave totally like attention seeking teens infront of her. Even the demon dude. They are people that would make her "care a lot" about them. Meaning she would spend more energy on taking care of them, this taking away some focus from her own self and that would chip away over time at her.

But Jeffrey is someone so equal to her on many levels, she can really relax with him and live a parallel life with him. They could be forever friends and cofidantes, have some benefits someday when the tension hits, then if they age they could casually be like "let's marry?" and have one of those super peaceful harmonious marriages, that sometimes have argument when both of them glitch, because they are such big presences, it happens....and all over be very complete kinda....and if ever on of them should have a low moment, the other would have enough energy saved up to spare it on them for a little extra attention and vice versa, without loosing oneself to much in the others deficiencies....

these two are characters who can really without issues live on their own, and such characters can easily get lost in needy people like EVERYONE ELSE...but together they can be very compatible
