Omg this is so true. I mean, growing up in a shitty environment and presented with nothing but shitty choices in life, sometimes the line between what's right and wrong gets so blurred to the point you won't even know you've made a mistake until it's in front of your face.
So I really appreciate how 'human' these characters are. The FL and ML made choices that seemed right at the time and it made sense to them given their circumstances. But they regretted it. Now that they went back in time, they decided to change it for the better.
If that does not scream character development, then I don't know what does.

Idk, he fucked up all the way, it wasn’t just a few little mistakes it was all the way up till he was an old man and he didn’t do anything right by her whatsoever. Yeah, people make mistakes and deserve second chances but taking away her child, locking her up and neglecting her? C’mon. He knew that her father wanted her to suffer til she died, it was part of the deal.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees this. It’s a pretty nice story thus far. I’m looking forward to how they both grow together. I’m especially looking forward to seeing Elle grow up, lol. He’s so cute! (≧∀≦) But yes, many seem to forget that this was more of a ‘political’ marriage, it wasn’t one done out of love. (Expect on her part at the time.) Him realizing he likes her the second time around isn’t unusual. At this point, I’m emotionally invested. (￣∇￣")
It's also true that he fucked up real bad. What's he feeling or doing right now doesn't excuse what he did nor does it erase them.
The FL doesn't have to forgive him or fall in love with him. As of now, it's clear that she's not willing to forgive him anytime soon. And that's more than fine. I wouldn't too if I was in her shoes.
But I do acknowledge the fact that the ML owned his choices. He admitted to all that crap he did. And he's trying to make amends for it.
That's what actually gets me. I do hope hope they communicate and help one another. For their sakes and for Elle's too.
I just need to applaud how well the 2 POVs are well thought of. So many missed opportunities for both FL and ML that could've resolved through communication and helping each other, but because of responsibilities and fears, they aren't able to.
It just hits home and I like how there was a character development. I understand the hate and all that, but AREN'T we all the same? Who would know the right thing to do immediately at the first try? We get to do things by will but what we thought was good and right, ended up not the right choice after all. That's being human.
I like this story. Looking forward for more of it.
