first of all, eclis doesnt get "tossed out". he abandoned penelope and left her for the real daughter (i forgot her name) and second, i cant remember the spoilers well but i do know that the real daughter makes eclis join her instead, and she will most likely try destroying all the work penelope did with the love meter. this ties into your second question of since penelope is related to the dukes sons, blood or not, its still kinda weird. they are also crossed out as much as eclis leaving the crown prince and tbh im kinda excited for it, since it wont just be loving doting crown prince at the beginning (yes i love enemies to lovers and yes im excited for their snarky banter). third, even if she did end up with one of her BROTHERS... i, and a lot of other people, would still find it weird since they are still siblings, even on paper, and she is still considered penelope in the open eye. not a smart move. the cover page is probably and most likely because reynold was the main focus of the story for a bunch of chapters. and also imo, doesnt make sense to spoil ml's when youre trying to trick the audience with eclis. i hope this answers your questions!
