In a day like this, May 25, Oscar Wilde was sentenced to two years of forced labor because of homosexuality and acts against decency. It was the spring of the year 1895. If there is a Paradise, Oscar you are there. This is in your honor:

I still can't believe they used his own books as evidence for his homosexuality ╥﹏╥ As I read them they always make me so sad, but they're such beautiful books. Thank you for this post

They used some paragraphs of "The portrait of Dorian Gray" insinuating that it was an immoral book, and used the poem "Two loves" written by Lord Alfred Douglas to ask Wilde what was the meaning of "the love that not dare to speak its name".
