The most horrible character was Jake's mother, of course. I do understand Jake's horror upon learning he just had sex with his sister. But, the point is, he should have talked to the FL.... instead, he immediately got married to another woman while Kitty was still in town. I can just imagine the suffering Kitty experienced, and on top of that, she was pregnant. Then she was kicked out of her grandparents' home. Any woman weaker than Kitty would have died from broken heart. It was just too much to take. If only for that, and not knowing the full story of what happened to her, Kitty should not have allowed herself to be bamboozled to marry Jake. It was disgusting that Jake asked her to marry him when Kitty was barely conscious, and she actually thought that everything was just a dream. And Jake had the gall to kick her out just because Kitty gifted him with ownership of a manor. Clearly, there was something wrong with Jake's personality.
Jake should just have stayed in the fucking village with his goats, and Kitty should have stayed with her father, and stood pat and nurtured her blooming acting career, and find a decent man to marry ( not someone in the entertainment business, I hope. )
