I dont think thats the only reason,i haven't read the novel but novel readers hate her so she prob did something messed up. And most people tend to follow the trend of hating a character when a lot of people do. But I agree with you for the most part
Personally I just don't like the fact that it feels like they are destined, to me it's too obvious, it's like between them it's already acquired. I would've even prefer if there wasn't any romance, but my taste ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Well, i saw one comment where they're so pissed off to Tess tho cuz like everytime she's in danger and Arthur dont have choice but save her then again, she's in danger, got save again, danger, save, danger like, idk but that explains it why people not hate her but just got annoyed tho
Yeah I see that a lot. Tbh it can get a bit repetitive but whether its a girl or a guy he'll always try to save as many as he can. Tess just happens to always be in danger. The typical damsel in distress kinda troupe ya know

Its funny how you guys would do anything to bring down a female character and I see it everywhere. The majority of you dont have a valid reason to not like Tess. You just dont like her cause she has feelings. There was no where were tess forced art to like her back. Although the kiss was wrong does not mean you have to hate Tess's whole persona.
