Actually they are not straight. They were supposed to be canon and the author said that if mha had any romance it would probably be with the two of them.

MHA doesn't really have any romance in it and no one really said this character is straight this character is gay etc. so that creates an opening for many ships to be made. It's fanon, you can do whatever you want.
They weren’t “supposed” to be canon. The only confirmed relationship in the story was Shindo Yo and his gf. No relationships for the class of 1-A were planned. The reason why Horikoshi said it was canon was because he was receiving DEATH THREATS to make them a couple, and so he said IF it was canon, Bakugo and Kirishima would be the most likely pairing.
To my knowledge, no. None of the characters in 1-A have confirmed sexualities. Horikoshi does have a Twitter but it’s all in Japanese obvs.
Additionally, he said that would be the only *likely* GAY pairing. He DID NOT confirm any of their sexualities.

It's just fiction so most people can do what ever they want. No one is Canon in BNHA and it's just fanfiction so there isn't much problem. I honestly think it's better than people making fanfics about bts members being together-

How do you find it okay to force your straightness on these characters? They don't have canon sexualities, so assuming they are straight is just weird. I understand that we live in a heteronormative society but there is no reason to say things like this to people who are just enjoying a cute ship.
