Then I always imagined them to be "brothers", not with a "bromance" kind of environment. I was a Yaoi/BL addict before reading the novel but nothing activated within me while reading it, especially during those moments.

I'm so sorry! So stupid of me! I always thought that "bromance" and "BL" has the same meaning and wavelength. My perception to these is changed from this moment on! (Though it may feel awkward for me to immediately use "bromance" from now on so please allow me to use "brotherhood")
