Something happened while she was young to make her and her sister become fugitives, they never really elaborated on why.
Also She feels she is messing with his destiny. The story went differently from the original novel she read, according to the novel he can only break his curse and be happiest by falling in love and being with the wizard Serena (I think they said her name was.) she thinks he will marry the female wizard and doesn’t want her feelings to become anymore stronger.
