Calling out fake sick during a pandemic was probably not smart, because I ended up playing up how ‘sick’ I was. I tried listing enough symptoms to justify calling out and I didn’t say anything when they asked me to take a leave of absence to quarantine, because I didn’t want to get caught lol. My manager was pissed so I could tell it was an order from HR.
It was actually so nice finally getting time off from work that when I got back, I tested my luck by saying yes to one of questions in the health screening and unbelievably they had me take another week off to get tested lmao.
The fact I didn’t get fired is a miracle in itself tbh.
Same. Gotta admit I'm a frequent absentee. When pandemic first erupted and whenever I want to absent, I had to be careful not to indicate Covid symptoms as symptoms or else I'll be forced to take unpaid leaves.
Few months later, I felt like I needed to take a break. So I called-in sick and listed Covid symptoms then ta-daa, I was forced to take 2week leave so I had short vacation
Fortunately, I tested negative when I was asked to return and they haven't fired me yet lol
I feel like a bad influencer
When a lie goes horribly wrong lmaoooo
This happened to me at my shitty retail job when COVID first started.
