Well he was a bit too agressive in his reprimanding of her, but think about it, if someone who you care for and love so much basically went head first into danger while you couldn't be around to protect them and you and that person know full well that they would never be able to defend themselves in such a situation, wouldn't you be kinda mad?
She could've been horribly injured or worse, and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it, so the thought of that probably made him feel angry and helpless at the same time and also frustrated with himself and those who he ordered to protect her while he was away, so it was really just an outburst of his emotions.
