It's not actually furry, it's just like nekomimi (ears and tail) which isn't furry. Even though they can turn into animals they don't *do it* in that form (which would be bestiality and not furry)
There is a lot of (insert japanese word for any animal) +mimi and not a lot of furry actually. What would count as furry but most say bestiality is Hasumi Hana's Kemonohito/remnant omegaverse. But people differentiate furries and bestiality bc the beasts don't have that certain look real furries have so people just use bestiality tag instead. So there is little to no actual furries in real manga yaoi
