I think it was because when she fell out the window, she was prepared and she had already accepted her powers. In her first life, she was sure her brother would save her and she was rejecting her powers the whole time. This is just a theory tho
Probably because she didn’t except like how she’s excepting them now because before she didn’t really want the powers now she likes them..? If that makes any sense describe the wrong take it with a grain of salt :D
I just realized, if Hilise’s powers saved her from when she fell out of the window, why didn’t they save her from falling down the stairs in her first life?
