I mean. Yes. That manipulation part was the most confusing. Because let's really see here. He was a baby when his mother tried to kill him. She's brainwashed him from the beginning
I don't feel bad for the mom I mean she literally had him tear up the lobe letter I don't think he was "wanting" her to do that. Brainwashing is scary as hell. Also, it was a little off putting on how they kissed each other. Like it's normal growing up as a child even into your teen years but I think just the way it was drawn made it weird.
