I like both so that's good for me, but sometimes I feel like I'm in the mood for either smut or fluff, one or the other and not both.
i like both. some shounen ai give a satisfactory storyline enough to fill any void im looking for in a story that make smut scenes unecessary. but a yaoi w an actual great plot is a gem out of all gems for me.
It depends. There’s been stories where I thought the smut dragged on and I got bored and wanted to go back to the main story, or it took away from the storyline a bit. And there’s been stories where I would have liked to see a little more, not smut necessarily but more romance or lovey dovey moments between the couple where I felt it ended too soon.
It’s the opposite for me, usually if it has smut as a genre it feels like the sex is overly done to me so even when I read a good story it feels like smut scenes have too much importance throughout it (I mean the story stars revolving around them having sex?), so I prefer shounen ai ones as they mostly focus on the storyline and the characters’ love more
shonen ai is focused on two guys, which is why it usually doesn't have smut. with smut is usually bl and yaoi
I mostly read yaoi cause even though I like a good story, I need some smut. There are many Shounen Ai I have read which have good storylines, but I feel like it would even be better if it had some smut in it. What do you guys think?
