Three possibilities; he remembers his past life, he died and remembers his past life, or (what I think to be more likely) he regressed time but it took him some time to achieve it because he tells her he’s “been waiting a long time”
yeah you're right!! i also think that's most likely plus he's a magic user so it would make sense
and even now as a kid he"s trying to learn magic early on
i'm thinking the ml remembers their past life as well
in chapter 2 (i think) the fl asks him why he doesnt get mad at her and he answers hes mad only about one thing
i think hes talking about her sacrificing herself for him ? so maybe he used magic or something to go back
