Was thinking of that as well. Especially when i saw Kian's reaction on the previous chap when he saw the princess.
At first I was think illegitimate but now when you said legitimate, the legitimate seems to make more sense!!!!!
She said that the king have other 2-3 illegitimate children. She also said that the king decided to give the throne to one of his illegitimate children. She also said that the crown prince is specially dangerous for silla because of(the cut part). So there's only 2 explanation for kian's identity. First, he's one of those other illegitimate children. Or second, he's the legitimate child and the one who supposed to be the crown prince.
