First of all, I say she didn't "kidnap" his children. She asked what he would do if a woman approached him and claimed she was with child and his response was to punish the woman. This played a big factor it isn't just a miscommunication it's the basis for why she decided to run away in the first place: to protect her children
Second, she fell for dream Kyle because she didn't know that dream Kyle and real Kyle were the same until after she decided to run away. Before she knew they were one, she thought dream Kyle was just a figment of her imagination caused by pregnancy hormones lololol. She continued to treat him as a demon king because well he claimed his throne through bloodshed and he was a well known psycho amongst his citizens. Now let's backtrack a little bit. The reason why she didn't reveal that she was the woman of that night in the first place was because the emperor was known to kill the women who tries to seduce him (Dumb FL honestly just stupid if he wanted to he could've killed you after doing the deed #－.－ but for the sake of the argument let's pretend he was too tired to kill her after secs)

Emperor didn't kidnap them. The shadow and the capitan did because they were following the rebels. Shadow thought those children have something to do with the rebels so he took them, and capitan didn't even try to stop him. Emperor only knew that those are his children when he saw them.
And then what is he going to do? Bring them back to the house frequented by the rebels while their mother is away?
He told her where they are. She only needs to come to pick them up.
But she still plans to run away with them anyway.
So, conclusion, FL has zero brains.
