You actually summarized what i feel. I’ve always liked Nine bcs he’s so sincere with his love for melissa but somehow he was iffy in this chapter for me...i dont know if it’s bias bcs im a woman and i understand melissa more but melissa isnt dumb enough to surge into trouble without a backup plan :( she’s not your typical fl who just goes into trouble bcs she knows some ml will save her...it’s clear that she thought this through :(((

Ok, just to pick this up again after the new chapter.
He LEFT her? After saying that he would prefer drinking the poison tea himself rather than watching her do it? Really? One person can kill themselves but the other one can't be put at risk, with a really strong healer by their side who could save them?? (Nine was made aware of all the different elements/roles of the plan, he cannot say the FL hid things from him)
They are not in a romantic relationship and she made that clear. She also explained her responsibilities as a noble and the freedom she gives to her servants as she considers them friends. Lastly, she doesn't know about Nine's crush as he never told her.
And his resolve to protect her is to leave and sulk? Is he truly a 9-year-old kid? Does he consider himself weak? Weak enough that whatever the FL decided to do, he can't protect her?
So a man can have pride and act rashly, but a woman should only be proper and meek? If the gender roles were reversed what would be everybody's reaction? (last part is an honest question, not looking for a fight)
