I don't remember well but He's actually just trying to protect his daughter in the first timeline, he doesn't approach her or anything because the king will use her against him and he prolly gave the knife to her daughter for defense i don't know how to elaborate the events but yeah there's an explanation from his actions
THIS! plus the prince comes in her cell and she thinks he's there to kill her for hurting his sister. But it's later revealed that the prince actually hates his birth family and is loyal to only her father so the prince would never kill her that can't be his purpose.
Her father goes along with it too because they're planning to overthrow the king and this was the perfect timing
Tbh the plot makes sense but it’s just poor choice of wording in the beginning I think, which makes the flow of the story kinda abrupt when we suddenly get told that he loved her.
and idk if i want to continue reading this... the father sudden change just tun me off(?) ig. isn't that wayy out of character? why didn't he shows the same care towards the og char? so much questions in my head idk what to feel :) or maybe im just too addicted to face slapping moments
