this is what i found from an article. that would also explain why many chinese manhuas are shounen ai with only discreet sex scenes or kisses.

So I just finished reading "Film Emperor's Reincarnation Script" -good story btw totally recommend.
However I can't stop thinking about how the BL artist kept making jokes about how they can't be too explicit lest they get banned or something. Plus within the plot itself censorship in China was also touched upon.
Now that I think about it all the Chinese BLs I have read are shounen-ai (basically without sexy times).
Does anyone has any insight on this on how this censorship works or to what extent is it relaxed ?
