i think one reason was that bai pinting was more beautiful in drama than described in novel..

Oh my god I just finished reading the novel and.... can you see tears in my eyes??? Such an emotional yet beautiful story.. Indeed, the manga form can't even be considered half as beautiful and heartbreaking as the novel. I just love the part where Pingting and Duke were in the secluded palace, and Pingting wasnt given any freedom. And then, there's this were the Duke vi0lated here for 8 months without wanting to meet her other than at night. I was like, ╥﹏╥ but (●￣(ｴ)￣●).. Really really really!! You must read the novel !!!
