I'm siding with you. She is smarter than FL's brother and father anyway. Siding with her sister is a wise choice compared to Ricardo and Diego staying in denial. Eventhough FL doesn't care much about her sister, which makes it an even better choice for Gabrielle (if FL was resentful, then doing so would only make things worse).
Nah, Gabrielle is one of those two faced a-holes that will ditch you the moment you have the disadvantage. I won't be surprised that in the next or so chapters, she'll start being cold to her dad and brother.
Like that one supportive friend in a popular friend group at school sucking up to the popular kid until that popular kid loses their popularity so that supportive friend ditches them so they don't ruin that "hard earned" popularity they leeched off. They might even talk behind their former friend's back and talk shit about them so they could gain clout.
You are saying that you still didn't see the strong denial of her father (and her brother). I swear it's smarter to just accept the reality than believing in things you already know aren't reality. And if I remember in the novel, she wasn't bad to Ricardo or Diego, she was more on the thinking that they should just stop bothering FL because it will just go against themselves. Anyway, she is smart just by adapting quickly to her environment. Which is definitely not the case of the family.
Also there was a scene of FL with her brother that the webtoon didn't put, I was waiting for it. T.T She was so badass against her brother's attitude and just after that she took the place of her father. Such a shame that the brother is as much detailed as he is in the novel.
Here he just seem out of everything, staying on the left side, reacting to things and doesn't involve himself at all while he really involved himself in the novel.
Maybe the webtoon will never portray what he did, he does or what he will do. They are qjite soft with him.
Honestly I would love to read the novel but it looks like it's been dropped, novelupdates links to the chaps got nuked. So I don't want to invest my emotions on it.
But yeah, Gabrielle is smart in that case but it just doesn't make her a likeable character for me tbh.

Haha I've read MTL because I couldn't wait. And maybe because the translation was quite a mess, Gabrielle seemed cuter to me than those trash of blood relatives. The translation might have help me accept this girl eventhough I love very much Hilise. Because she ain't that bad (or she ain't stupid and she is powerless so chills for me)
