In a lot of fantasy mangas, bandits seem to no longer count as humans, and you can kill them without it being murder.

alright, I'll explain this better: I'm talking about the character's inner monologue. Usually, when the mc is so happy at the idea of getting to torture bandits, and smiles when he gets bathed in blood, he's usually not the type to be all heartbroken that 2 nameless soldiers died, and oh no their families and all that jazz. It feels like two different personalities, is what I mean.

why doesnt he think that his enemies have families too...
