Their relationship will improve so good until the ML ask his secretary to check on violet budgeting because ML give Violet a huge land with guaranted huge amount of money but she always so frugal and never bought anything expensive, it turns out 90% of those land money goes to some famous playboy singer for some unknown reason, the secretary told the ML and this mf doesnt even bother to check how that can happen and instead accepting the fact that Violet is having an affair as long as she doesnt divorce him.......
My guess is ML mother actually did that affair thingy so ML will divorce Violet, at the start ML'mother doesnt want them to divorce because she was planning this whole scam thing with Violet's brother but when she realise that ML will do anything for Violet including giving her all his money the mother was having a second thought in chapter 16/17 and scared that ML will giving money to them so she thought maybe divorcing Violet is not such a bad idea.
