It’s pretty bittersweet and not the ending I preferred as well

Basically he author is gonna come and tell dani that she needs to leave the book because she caused her best friend pain. So she leaves then she comes back a while later and they have no memory of her, only the black haired boy regains his memory but that's after a while and they all think she a wierd stalker and that's all I remember,
