My thoughts exactly, though I side with the fragrance more, like it makes people very trusting or something like how Mc was "maybe they are good' but since she has light powers and because of the physical shock she regained her conscious while Hades got effected and thinks everything is alright.
Moreover, that last smile was plain suspicious.
