Rykell can be ridiculously petty about punishment. he'll try to separate his daughter from any possible romantic interest.
and. yes. even Rykell ADMIT THAT IT IS A CHILDISH MOVE and apologize to his daughter (he filled Maybelle's schedule and make sure that Phon can't approach her except for simple greetings , while the daughter and disciple tried their best to look for a chance and have some private talk )
everything will a little better if Abel learn to behave and stay put until his restraining order is over . he is breaking the rule almost everytime just because he wants to sneak and visit Maybelle . Rykell is prone to throwing random punishment if someone said the wrong word or made mistake, and Abel did it repeatedly that it became a routine (he never learn lol. but it is part of his personality tho)
Phon is actually hiding the same rebel streak, but he knows when to stop trolling his teacher and behave.

Seriously it doesn’t make sense. And also what was up with Maybel's reaction when he brought water and was forbidden contact and she was like "man you just never learn"???
What did he do wrong? Or the other way around: what would be right? Is he supposed to dislike her and stay away? He is punished when behaving like a friend, when behaving like a servant, when behaving like a normal child ... this makes me feel so sorry for him :(
Is it just me or does the father keep her from making friends? It’s way too early for the "Stay away from my daughter"-behavior against possible romantic interests (I mean she’s a child) (〜￣△￣)〜
