ok so we all know he has past trauma being starved and abused as a child, but also apparently his (adoptive) family (aka the red haired woman) kept lying to him about how Violet(FL) was doing and also that she hated him.

i think that the rejection of dresses was his moms doing instead of Violet because in that one chapter were they go out to eat and Violet has to choose a dress, she literally has no idea that Winter(ML) has even sent her dresses to begin with.

Still will not forgive this man

According to some spoilers i read... because there is no translated novel so please take this with a grain of salt, his mother abandoned him as a child in a restaurant, in that said restaurant he became a slave until the duke found him until later, he doesn't know how to show affection except to throw money at it because that's how he got affection with the duke and his family. And so that's how he is trying to show affection towards violet.

Winter did not develop his EQ in a normal way, nobody taught him and he pretty much stagnated his EQ development since he was a child, hence the shouting when frustrated and the temper tantrums.

I am not excusing the ML for his behavior, only relaying the things I've found out so far.
