there is a way. you can go to their account’s homepage and scroll down. there should be a “follow” or “mail” icon :)
You tap on there profile and then scroll to the bottom if ur on mobile (if ur on laptop then ur see on the right side I think) then ur see there pfp u can add them as a friend and/or send them mail which the dms
you can email someone by clicking their name and searching for an email button, while i dont think there is a friend feature there is a follow feature.
