Definitely, something so serious and ingrained to you is something that cannot be undone overnight like magic. Yeah she got God on her side or whatever but the thing done to her is something that wouldn't be ever truly healed and be gone without a trace. The author is just taking in the MCs standpoint in a more realistic way.
The remains of abuse doesn't go away no matter what you fucking do, it leaves a fucking scar one way or another.
She needs to be healthy first (mentally, physically and emotionally) before she can do all the shit that some of you had been talking about.
I know that it's fictional but please, some of you try to be more logical and sensitive, the MC needs healing first before she could go on with whatever she decides on doing, on what she truly wants.
Sorry for ranting, I just got carried away with the topic at hand.
I keep seeing comments saying, “Oh but I want the MC to be strong and murder everyone!” and “Why doesn’t she just kill them all? Why isn’t she cunning? She has a God!” and “Oh! Is she gonna forgive them or something??? But that would be annoying!”
Now, it’s actually really good to have a character that doesn’t simply brush off years of trauma and abuse. Now, I’m not gonna pretend I know everything, because I don’t.
What’s IMPORTANT to note is that: MOST ABUSE VICTIMS HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THEIR ABUSER.
A lot of abuse victims actually DON’T WANT TO DO ANYTHING BAD TO THEIR ABUSER, some may actually rather see their abusers get BETTER.
This is because abusers will use lots of manipulative tactics, and the victim being in vulnerable and emotional state they are in...it’s gonna work.
It’s also VERY IMPORTANT to remember: OUR FL HAS NEVER LEARNT OF THE CONCEPT OF “WANTING” SOMETHING.
Her father never gave her jackshit, she wasn’t ALLOWED to want anything, so she never did, the only thing she wanted was their love, but she chose to let that go. If some guy just goes “Ayo I can give you anything you want.”, when FL still hasn’t really figured out what she wants, she’s gonna be confused and anyone would be, because “anything” is too vague and there’s so many options to choose from.

She was literally neglected and abused all her life, you think she got an EDUCATION??? She was abused, but she was nobility, which means her education would have to be provided by tutors which would be provided by her shitty father, and do you really think that jackass would do that? Sorry, but our FL may barely be able to read, let alone run an ENTIRE FUCKING EMPIRE. She would probably be a shit Empress, just saying.
She’s already doing so well for someone that was abused for that long. I’m proud of her.
