It’s only the same up to when Claude first gets amnesia, from then on the manhwa is completely different. For example the novel:
- focuses on Lucas x Athy; is more balanced between family, romance, and personal growth
- Jeanette is antagonistic, hates Athy, pretends to be her friend, hits on boys, wants to steal Athy’s position, controls black magic etc
- Jeanette’s true father is dead
- Amnesia arc is not dragged out as long as it is now. It ends quickly because Lucas returns from his trip and restores Claude’s memory by hitting him in the head with a branch from the world tree
- Anastacius isn’t that big of a villain
- has a different main villain
In contrast, the manhwa:
- focuses on father and daughter relationship (uh...maybe more when Cinderella wakes up?) and significantly reduces focus on Athy’s romantic relationships
- Jeanette is ignorant and loves Athy, wants to be a true friend, gets dumped without confessing, is sidelined a lot and only does what she’s told etc
- has an amnesia arc that will outlive the human race
I haven’t read the novel myself but this is some of the things I remember being mentioned by other novel readers.
