Plus even though his parents are such scumbags to mc, they act good to ml, and since she doesnt say anything he didn't knew what was going on. In like few more chaps he will know about the closet thing, and will get angry to his parents and stop giving them money for parties

as far as chapter 10, ive come to the conclusion thst winston is an absolute idiot. considering he is the reason why violet wants to die and he still doesnt understand that even though she grew up as a "prim and proper princess" she too is traumatized and hurt. he is very narrow minded and can only see things from his victim pov. he completely ignores the hardships that she is going/did go through. even after violet figured out that the reason they switch is because she tries to kill herself. she sees that as a barrier to her freedom.
