your story kind of reminded me of this one....
I had two hamsters, one was brown named Eric. Then we lost him and got a new one. I then named that one Eric 2 (don't ask, I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid at the time), he was white and was the worst creature that walked the Earth. Soon after Eric 2 came we found Eric 1 and put them in the same cage. Long story short, Eric 2 killed Eric 1 and I was scarred for life.
