I did that too. I would pile a bunch of clothes and toys underneath the pulled out mattress. My brother and I would do somersaults down the mattress slide.

Yeah he had fun doing that too. I’d do stuff like that as a kid. Making slides, getting in sleeping bags and sliding down carpeted stairs.
Off topic but... bunk beds, when I was little I used to slide back the boards under the top bed/my brothers bed and pull down one side of the mattress, to create the 'bunk slide', got a lot of @ss whoopings for it. But still worth it.
