lmao huh??? you realize the content uploaded to this site is stolen, right? why should/would they go out of their way to give the authors' a fraction of what they might of received had this website not existed?
dont take this the wrong way, as im not trying to badmouth this site in anyway: just stating the facts. this comment comes across as very naive and a bit insulting to make the assumption that authors should only receive a percentage of the
profits made from their stolen work lmfao.
i dont think u meant it in that way, but thats how it comes across imo. this site is best kept not affiliating with authors at all unless it becomes a legitimate business that doesnt profit off theft.

yea, like ad ribbons below the page, or on left or right side of the page, or even an ad video or something when you click for the next chapter (kind of like, 'watch an ad for a couple mins, then get the next chapter'?)
Man that would be nice.
the only thing that mangago got right for an illegal site is the community comment system, because it literally is a semi social media platform if you think about it, and it's sustainable because it generates engagement (like facebook comment section). the only thing missing is paying for artists so it doesn't have to be an illegal site anymore.

what's gotten you worked up?
have you heard of the idea of offering contracts with artists? it's a business proposal not a hand me donation system.
do you think lezhin operates out of charity and gives out 100% of the coins that payers give in exchange for a chapter?
yeah this is an illegal site BECAUSE they don't pay the artist for posting the work here, ergo, if they strike a deal with the artist, it's a win-win.
I don't get why you think artist get 100% of the money for getting their art posted in lezhin, they don't.
who would run a business like that?

So just because mangago is illegal, it can't do the right thing and go the legal route? Cause that's what I'm saying.
You keep on pushing a black and white narrative as if mangago can't do it, fyi they can, they just won't at the moment (because of course, earning money from ads without splitting it to the proper artist means more for the admins).
Clearly, you're too narrow minded.

Because it's not that simple? You say "offer contracts" as if it's as easy as 1 2 3 lmao. Don't underestimate the industry, go look up the manga/hwa/hua localization process. You have to get a license with a comic's publisher, which most of the time requires connections in the country of origin, you have to hire translators, editors, etc etc. There's a reason official work isn't as abundant as scanlations.
"Can mangago put ads on this site and give a percentage to the actual authors??" -> Reread your sentence. In the first place, the way you worded it made it sound like you wanted to keep Mangago, uploads and all, BUT with ads. Which is what I was replying to initially. That's a stupid idea because everything on here is illegal. There are rips of official translations, and scanlations which are just as illegal.

lol im not worked up. im saying you're incredibly naive/dumb if you think this site would willingly want to migrate to a business model that would decrease their revenue stream with no worthwhile benefits in return.
who would run a business like that? lmao
and last i checked, i surely never said that the authors get 100% of the revenue, because no doy, they obviously dont. i'm saying that its laughable that a) you assume theyd be able to make enough through ads to pay out a percentage to EVERY author and illustrator on this site, and b) you think authors would want to associate with an entity thats been potentially stealing their revenue from the get-go????
not only that, but you're also advocating for a decreased user experience brought along with the usage of ads, not even mentioning the fact that there are ways to mitigate them, thus bringing us back to square 1.
you do realize that if what you suggested was in any way or shape viable, then legit publishing sites would use that model instead of requiring customers to pay for chapters directly. theres a reason why its so difficult to get free currency from ads on sites like lezhin: it doesnt generate enough on its own to equate to outright paying upfront.

sooo.... you're not worked up. you can't just accept that I can suggest an idea such as wishing for an illegal site to go legal and pay the artist their due money.
you're not worked up but you want to hammer away your opinion that mangago will never go legal. Yeah, you might be right, there's a lot of money for not paying the artists, but you're not worked up, you just want to win an argument that you started.
I never asked any question in my post, yet you come here on your high horse bearing superior wisdom on how the world works.
Chill daddy. No one is trying to fight you, you're likely just punching air. No one cares about your wrong opinion and I certainly didn't ask you.

lol why would i be worked up over your stupid suggestion? if it makes you feel better, then i don't mind saying i'm mad for your sake seeing to as it changes literally nothing about the critique i made regarding how stupidly idealistic your suggestion is.
its not necessarily my opinion that they won't go legal? it would be at their own (and authors' own) detriment if they decided to pursue your dumb idea, so logically speaking, it makes no sense for them to go down that route. despite implying you give so much as a damn about the authors' bottom line, you have yet to provide any incentive for mangago to actually pursue your suggestion that would be finically worthwhile to deviate from their current standard of practice, and you're doing this all while unironically benefiting from this current business model (and have done so for a whole 4 years now lol).
and luckily for you, the beauty of this public platform that you commented within is that you don't even have to ask any questions for me to enlighten you with my "superior wisdom," which is also commonly referred to as "basic critical thinking skills." you proposed a stupid suggestion, and i've imposed my educated critique: that's how these social sites such as this one happen to work. so... you're welcome? lol

Where is the ad hominem?
You're too rigid on your beliefs that you can't take other people's opinion and you form a crusade out of thin air from sn opinion. Duh? All your explanations are hitting walls because I didn't say my post is a command that mangago needs to do, I even titled it 'unpopular OPINION' .... I don't get why your panty is getting twisted over an opinion that doesn't coincide with yours that you have to shove up to people's faces your own beliefs.
Where is the ad hominem? You're too pressed, now that's a fact.
Can mangago put ads on this site and give a percentage to the actual authors??
I mean, it'd be kinda cool to help out the actual artist? Like how youtube and any other webpage have ads to earn money, I hope a cut goes to the authors too.
Wouldn't it be nice?
