the way I see it, only the ones we really love can really hurt us, only the ones we really love can kill us. when you fall in love with someone you automatically give them a power over you.
when you develop feelings for a person, a beautiful but scary space is created inside you. a space that no matter what will happen in the future, either if this person takes this power you gave them to cherish and treasure you, or if they use it to hurt you, this space will never go away... it'll always remain there, inside you, a piece of you that will never be entirely yours. and that can be very frightening.
I am not into BDSM, but this manga took the subject in really new depths... I love how the author shows us how different and in the same time, how deeply connected physical and emotional pain are... it is truly a beautiful read (▰˘◡˘▰)
