I don't think it was that simple. She is from a highly ranked house. She is from a super rich house. So I think he just took the marriage offer from her house. I don't think he had to do it or anything though, but that it was just too good a deal to pass up.

It’s valid in the sense that he ignored her, but taking away her kid is not valid imo.

I’d be disgusted if I was forced into a marriage and ignore the person too probably.

In that sense I think he also could not have said no to her marriage because of pressures.
