I agree, this story does not take into account the consequences of the MCs actions. But every issue being solved by tea, so I'm guessing the author is not concerned about the economic impact of the MCs decisions
You're so right, everything all comes down to the Tea. Diplomatic relations are strained? TEA. Need to impress a merchants wife? TEA. People are ruining their lives with gin? TEA. Corsets are too tight and uncomfortable? Snacks...with TEA.
And the small times that issues are solved without tea are so Deus ex machina. Being framed for tea contamination? Magic recording orb what we've literally never heard of before or since. Saint won't allow cross work communication? Immediately agrees to it in person and even thanks Chloe for being...happy? These story lines are SO simple - at least the art is pretty.
I know this is fiction and tea saves everything but the sweet potato stuff really bothers me lol. By making it so popular with nobility its just driving up the price of sweet potatoes and makes it harder for the poor people who depended on it to afford it now. You can ignore me cause i know its just fantasy but sor some reason this annoyed me a lot since there would be some negative impacts since it takes like 4 months to grow people would be clamoring for whats available driving up the price.
