Can we appreciate that the duke likes Yuri? Like he didn’t fall in love with her because he somehow knows she’s a girl, but he’s genuinely wondering if he’s attracted to men, because Yuri is a man in his eyes. I think that’s pretty neat
I hate when the male lead falls in love with the “boy” because he somehow found out it was actually a girl.

Right?? Jesus every time the ml falls in love with the "boy" because they knew it ruins the story for me...

Why though? The narrative of falling in love with a crossdresser would actually only apply to bi, pan and maybe people unaware of (or unsure about) their orientation. In some bl or gl for exemple, MC fall in love with X gender thinking it is Y gender, but end up loving the love interest for/despite being X gender... (I don't know if it was clear, english isn't my first language).
So if we go from the fact that one doesn't choose an orientation but is born that way, it is normal that some will fall in love only after discovering the truth, because only then they might see the other as a potential lover, not only as some friend. After all one can be 100% gay, straight, bi or pan

It can be a bit of a downer at times, mostly because there’s not really much of a representation of mlm like- I don’t know how to explain it, it’s like, when they have to pause and be like “maybe I like this man” it’s like yeah you could and there would be nothing wrong with that, but when the love interest dates the boy because he knows it’s a girl it’s like ehhh okay kid

Lmao I actually agree w ur statement completely. I am fine with the ML falling for the FL after realizing that the FL truly is female. It's all the stories I read so far the ML are like: "they dress as a guy but I know she's a girl, and I'm the only one who knows, even the FL doesn't know that I know, it's my secret they are mine" kinda thing rubs me the wrong way a little ... Idk wt it is but it's just that. Sorry if I offended u. If u know a gd one (that isn't creepy like I mentioned) tho do recommend me one cus I haven't come across one yet (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

If you meant it that way, yeah it is creepy. He just want to monopolize the girl knowing he will never get rivals. I´m not sure if I know one where he doesn´t act like a creep. I read Seiyuu ka, but he realised it (spoiler)

    super late....

Yeah I can see why’d you think that but in the case of if a ml already knew the fl was female then they wouldn’t be attracted to the same gender. It would just be someone who’s attracted to the opposite gender who looks like a boy so it wouldn’t exactly make them bi or pan in this case. Which is what happens most times I see cross dressing scenarios. But I do like the example you presented though. Those are neat where the person questions their preferences because of the love interest and I do like them as well :)
